The second general convention of the American Lutheran Church has warned its congregations and ministry that violations of the denomination's racial stands could lead to disciplinary action. The 1000 delegates' policy statement on segregation said that "anyone who will respond to the Gospel should be welcomed into the fellowship of the church."
