''Let the Prime Minister give his own wife a pass if he wants them.'' Recently the major channels of communication have been making known to the world the latest reaction in the Union of South Africa to the apartheid (segregation) laws. Not satisfied with the pass laws which hang as a grievous yoke about the neck of every mobile African man in that land, the dictator-like rule of the present Prime Minister, Hendrik Verwoerd, has extended the laws to include African women in the Union. These laws restrict the Africans in their whole life. Outside their so-called "native locations" they are subject to arrest and imprisonment wherever they may go and no matter what their purpose may be in going, if they do not have a pass for that purpose on their person.
