Well aware of the hunger crisis in Africa, V.U. students mounted posters and wore stickers on their jackets and backpacks, exhibiting the symbol and nudging one another to remember our African neighbors who have been assaulted by the ravages of widespread hunger.

Deaconesses served a low-cost, third-world luncheon for the cause; fraternities observed fast days and donated their meal payments; other students baked and sold loaves of bread; fliers, forums, and films informed the campus community of Africa's hunger perils.
