Abstract

Jonah, a Pakistani-American Muslim, has joined both the LGBTQ group and the Muslim Student Association at his university. In light of recent bias incidents, he decides to create an event that will join the two groups in a united front against harassment. Will he succeed, or will cultural differences and intolerance keep them apart? In the Belly of the Whale is a play that asks questions about how we live in community when our differences appear insurmountable.
