"What the heck is a portfolio?" On the first day of The Human Experience, this was all I could think of. As I began reading Portfolio Keeping, my initial thoughts were, "Oh yeah, this seems like a big waste of time and way too much work for my liking. I can write just fine, why do I need to make a portfolio?" But then, after I got my first paper back, I immediately appreciated the value of being able to work throughout the semester on my papers and allow them to grow as I grew. Now, as I look back at the original drafts of my papers, I wonder why I was so upset with the comments I received. After working on the first few drafts of those papers for so many hours, I was shocked at not getting the same comments I received in high school.
