Support for exchanges of church membership across racial lines has come from at least three sources within recent months.
The Episcopal Society for Cultural and Racial Unity has called upon "all churchmen ... to witness to the wholeness of the church on Whitsunday of 1964 and thereafter by transferring from their present parish to one where the members are predominantly of another color."
