Police in Jackson, Mississippi-because they thought they heard a sniper's gun- fired random shots into windows of a college dormitory. Two young men are dead; nine are injured. In Augusta, Georgia, where police were called out to restore order after a riot had erupted, six men are dead; sixty injured.
