The Lutheran Church in America, meeting in convention June 21-29 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed two recommendations which commit that church body to a broader and more intensive ministry to the Indian American. The two recommendations were embodied in the convention report of the LCA's Board of American Missions, and grew out of a special study conducted for the Board by Miss Henrietta Lund, consultant to the United Nations for the National Lutheran Council. Miss Lund has done a number of comprehensive studies for the LCA and other Lutheran church bodies on various aspects of the Church's ministry to the total man in today's world. The first recommendation outlined five general principles that ought to characterize the Lutheran Church in America's ministry to the Indian American:
