"You can't force the issue." "Force will do more harm than good." "You defeat the very cause for which you are working when you use force." Expressions of this kind represent the reaction of many people when one tries to espouse the cause of minority groups. The assumption is, of course, that force is being used, a force that is not only harmful to the cause but also of an illegal and rebellious nature and, in the realm of the Church, contrary to an evangelical approach.
