Not Very Long!
How long does it take a new president of a university to really get started in the new setting?
Alan Frederick Harre came to Valparaiso in July as its 17th president, 6th since the school became a Lutheran institution. The inauguration is set for October 26; however, he’s already conducted his first faculty meeting, participated in his first meeting of the board of directors, visited with students in the residence halls, addressed the University Senate, met with all the vice presidents and deans, visited with secretaries and staff personnel, addressed parents of new students, attended worship services in the chapel, and watched the Crusaders take the field at the annual Popcorn Bowl game.
