Harre Inaugurates Austensen Administration
New Provost Takes Charge of University's Work
Dr. Roy Austensen was inducted as the first provost of Valparaiso University at ceremonies beginning the 1992-'93 academic year, ending a painstaking two-year search to fill the position and beginning a new era in the internal governance of the University . Not only has Provost Austensen assumed the principal responsibilities for the University's life and work as an academic institution, but he also serves as the acting president during Dr. Alan Harre's campus absences to conduct the University's external affairs.
