For alumni of Valparaiso University
Alums Among Three to Receive Honorary Doctorates
Alumni will receive two of three honorary degrees and about 850 graduates will be added to the alumni rank at VU's 111th annual commencement on Sunday, May 19. The ceremony will begin at 2:15p.m., Central Daylight Time, in the new Athletics-Recreation Center.
Honorary doctorates will go to Dr. Paul R. Manske '60, chairman of the division of orthopedic surgery at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo.; Mary Nelson, director of a neighborhood social and economic development organization in Chicago, Ill.; and Virginia "Jynny" (Schutzen) Retzinger '48, Reseda, Calif., advocate for the handicapped.
