Biographical Information about Author(s)

Taylor Williams is a MA TESOL student with an interest in how language can be used as a tool to resist oppression and marginalization. At Valparaiso University, they have conducted research on topics ranging from grammatical gender to the use of connectors by non-native English speakers, as well as this project on the lexical item bae. Additionally, Taylor has a passion for the academic analysis of Black English and hopes to one day conduct research on the best pedagogical approaches for teaching diglossic students whose first languages are non-standard dialects of English.
