Abstract

Cloud computing is an emerging topic in the information world. Economists have addressed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), which is a part of the cloud computing, as the “the next sea change” in the software business. By seeing the enormous benefits of SaaS such as its flexibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, it is gaining in popularity and its demand has increased in the IT world. Despite its advantages, it also holds some challenges. The major challenge of SaaS is the security of the information. This paper will give a clear picture of the various security threats to SaaS and the multiple methods to mitigate them. It also includes a few benefits of using the applications which are built on SaaS architecture and features that have made SaaS so popular. Finally, this paper will address the various major vendors of SaaS all over the world.
