Proposal for Conference
For my project, my main concern was making sure students feel considered and welcomed within all their classroom settings! The main question that would be asked is connected to incorporating aspects of verbal praise, tangible rewards/incentives, and consistent feedback to encourage desired behavior, we will discover methods of positive reinforcement in a learning environment for the engagement and growth of all students (academically/emotionally/socially). This connects to the classroom behavior that is monitored and compared alongside data. My first theme will talk about how desired behavior and engagement are connected within a learning environment. The main concepts of learning were focused on self-regulation tactics to use when a student may be experiencing behavioral overload. It was also expressed of the need for a healthy classroom environment for each scholar to grow in and express themselves. The second theme will talk about concepts of the alternate forms of reinforcement were addressed. We went over sensory, natural, material, generalized, and social reinforcement, and each aspect of those considered layers required for a well-balanced classroom. We also mentioned activity-based awards focused in movement to have scholars physically be involved in their learning space. When I teach my lessons, I can show my students how positive reinforcement can be applied with my given responses to their questions or comments. To increase engagement, the action would be to give verbal praise in response to class activities, giving out class tokens/tickets to win prizes later on, and even special privileges scholars can hold within the classroom (Scholar of the Month; extra free time).
Overall the main point of ths conference slideshow was because visual aspects help the audience understand concepts fuly of how classroom management can be applied and used inside of the classroom.
