Abstract
This student-led project aims to construct a prototype PocketQube satellite. These satellites are designed to be very small, in units of five cubic centimeters. The team will use the QUBIK PocketQube design by Libre Space Foundation to gain experience working with small spacecraft, mission planning, and payload consideration.

October 2022 Valparaiso University Research Society Approached us on an idea to develop a Satellite to launch by 2025. With much interest surrounding this topic we immediately got to work and developed a space program here at Valpo and we intend to complete this task and be in space by next year. In previous years we had both opted to take an elective that correlated with this project. A printed circuit board design and development class that would benefit us by teaching us how to navigate one of the major software. Currently we are pursuing an opportunity through the University Nanosat Program (UNP) that is funded through the United States Air Force Research Laboratory to help develop and teach students about satellite research. This program only selects 10 programs across the nation and has been around for 20+ years. This will send the Valparaiso University Satellite team to New Mexico for the summer of 2024.
