If l had a penny every time I got a blank stare from someone who didn't know who my teacher was, I wouldn't have to worry about affording his lessons. Even in this state of confusion, these random strangers have always asked a question I myself have pondered for many years: Who is Mark Lekas? When I first met him, he was my cello tyrant, but now I consider him one of the most influential people in my life. After finally sitting down with this man for a one on one conversation, I quickly learned that we weren't in Kansas anymore.
