Afternoon soap operas have long been a favorite television choice for women. Not only are the story lines steamy and suspenseful, but the cast contains a wide variety of characters ranging from normal to neurotic. Of this variety, the women characters of soap operas can be classified into four groups: the mother image, the victimized female, the career woman, and the evil temptress.
