Being a sister of the faith, I wouldn't normally be connected to convicted felons. People would picture me with the innocent and disadvantaged. For the most part, they were right. That's until I received a letter from a man named Matthew Poncelet. He was writing from death row in the Louisiana State Penitentiary. He wrote partly for company, and mostly to plead his case of innocence. Being a nun and a compassionate person, I wrote him back; and soon after that I went to see him.
