As far as your focus or direction is concerned, you addressed several issues in your paper. They include honesty (which also involves accuracy and fairness), integration into the community, co-workers, long hours, and deadlines. You focused on honesty in reporting and the community response to the reporter. The two are related because if the reporter is accurate and fair the community will respect him. These are the two most important because every other issue you brought up has a correlation to how honest the writing will be and how the community will react and possibly embrace the sports writer, although you don't always directly state how they correlate.
