Excerpt
In late April 2002, I walked into my yearbook class expecting nothing but the usual work day: cropping pictures, writing copy, and designing layouts. As I walked in class and took my seat I saw whom I believed to be a new student. She was sitting in her desk nervously swaying her leg, tapping her fingers on the desk, and glancing anxiously around the classroom. She quickly captivated my attention when my teacher, Mrs. Hewlett, introduced her to our class. The young girl nervously announced, "My name is Miss Sarah Drolen and I am applying for the position of journalism teacher and yearbook advisor next year. I thought it would be a great idea to come in and meet the students and see how class is currently run. I just graduated from Franklin College and I am a graduate of Munster High School. I would be honored to get the chance to work with Lake Central High School and hopefully I will get the opportunity to get to know you all better next year."
