Excerpt
The American culture today has its ideology backwards. All facets of a successful life are based on accomplishments. Academic success is measured by grades and tests. Spiritual success comes when one reaches an epiphany. Social success is centered on popularity. The trouble with these beliefs is that they center on the result. Does a person fall short of success if they are not the best? By measuring the success of one's life through accomplishments, one seems to ask for failure.
