Abstract
As the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of Paul Ramsey’s Patient as Person nears, this paper aims first to reintroduce Ramsey’s work and suggest its continuing fruitfulness. It also underscores aspects of Ramsey’s work that are important for the essays on more particular topics that follow.
