Abstract
This paper focuses on Tolkien first two phases in crafting his cosmology, through the Ambarkanta. The concept of the Void – and boundary-transgressing celestial journeys into it – proved problematic, even in these early cosmologies, as we investigate here, not the least problem being, what exactly is the Void?
