Abstract
This article details the dispersal and reconstruction of the library of Michael H.R. Tolkien (1920-1984) and provides a partial bibliography of the known contents of this library. The author has been collecting the books from Michael's library for a number of years and lists these items along with books owned by other collectors. It is hoped that this bibliography will add to knowledge regarding the reading and collecting interests of both Michael specifically and the Tolkien family in general, as many of the books were given as gifts by his father, brothers, sister, and others. This bibliography also adds knowledge to the reading and collecting interests of a mid-twentieth century English citizen before and after World War II.
