Lutheran Diaconal Association

Founded in 1919 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, “the LDA is an independent, multi-Lutheran organization that forms, sends, and nurtures communities of deaconesses and deacons, and supports the whole people of God in Christ's call to serve. Through a process of education and formation, LDA students study theology, practice hands-on ministry, grow in their own spirituality, and become members of a lifelong community of deaconesses or deacons.” (https://thelda.org/) The LDA began its association with Valparaiso University in 1943 when it moved its training school to Valparaiso. This collection contains various publications the LDA has published over the years.
