CSCM was founded in 1973 and was, at that time, the one remaining cooperative campus ministry vehicle of ALC, LCMS, LCA, and AELC. It was supported by Valparaiso University, by special grants from Aid Association for Lutherans, and by the Division of Campus Ministry (LCUSA). The Center was dedicated to the “study of campus ministry” and assisted in continuing education projects for campus staff through an annual Summer Seminar; six yearly regional conferences for campus ministry staff; special papers, studies, articles; two newsletters each year, and the Professional Campus Ministry Writing Project. The Center had its own lending library of books, tapes, and articles.
