"Xenophobia, the hatred of the foreigner, is spreading in Europe. Dear friends, the 'hideous beast' is rising again among us, and, as before, governments are being weak and not combating this climate of hate. What starts with xenophobia ends with war.''
So said Bruno Kreisky, former chancellor of Austria, on the 46th anniversary of "Kristall Nacht," November 10, 1984, at Dachau in the Federal Republic of Germany.
